M. Sutton
Oshawa, ON

This Ontario lure doesn't seem to have been mass produced or distributed to a wide geographic audience. There is little or no information on the company or the lure.  What becomes readily obvious is the fact that the lure is almost identical to the South Bend Teas-Oreno, and therefore, I can guarantee there is no patent information to help locate its maker or date.  It would seem the lure to be from the 40's or 50's. The bait has an almost identical Tease Oreno lip, but it is unmarked. The eyes appear to be made from a clear plastic bead, and the paint finish is of a high quality, but with a very folk art finish.  The box pictured here is the only style known. There has been speculation that M. Sutton may have worked at the South Bend Cobourg facility, but this is yet to be substantiated.

M. Sutton Fish Catcher Lure

A green and yellow "Fish Catcher" from M. Sutton.  I would love to find out more information on this company and add an example to my collection.
