Nepag Baits by Don GapenNipigon, Ontario Shown in the picture below is Don Gapen's "Nipigon Bait." It is known as Canada's first ever weight forward spinner. It was called the “Nepag” (Gapen backwards). From this lure, it is suggested that the Paul Bunyon 66, and the modern Lake Erie weight forward spinner arose. The lures were presented as shown, but there were always 2 lures in each box, with a thin piece of cardboard between them.
