Mayer Tackle Company Windsor, Ontario Yet again, another elusive fishing tackle company from Windsor. There are 2 lures shown in the picture to the right in the same colour. The one shown above had "#3" on the end of the box with a hand-written description of the colour which is "Green specks." I am assuming the number 3 is the size, because the smaller lure that you see in the box had the number 1 on the end. These are great little lures, but I'm sure they never made mass production. The bronze fin or rudder at the top moves side to side and the larger size 3 lure shown at the top has 3 hooks - 2 trebles on the sides, and one on the tail, whereas the smaller #1 lure only has a tail hook. Apparently the Scotianite utilized the "Vari Action Hookup" which gave the lure considerable action underwater. I have to give credit to the company for creating such an interesting piece of reading in their box insert - very persuasive! | Scotianite Lures in their Boxes
