Canadian Marine and Tackle Company
Location Unknown

I came across this fascinating little lure package and I have no idea where it came from other than what I was able to learn from the packaging.  According to the paperwork, this little rubber lure is called The Talking Fish Lure and it comes from a company called Canadian Marine and Tackle Company.  The style of bait and paperwork would lead me to believe that it was produced by the VIVIF lure company that originated in France. However, this lure and package does seem to have some fairly unique characteristics.  The lure mouth is much different than other styles of VIVIF lures in that the mouth is open and has a horizontal slit spanning the length of the mouth.  The lure is also supposed to be covered in a fish-type oil called Formula 707 which came in the original packaging...truly unique.  It could be suggested then, that The Talking Fish Lure body was produced by VIVIF, but the paperwork, packaging and Formula 707 was produced by the Canadian Marine and Tackle Company.  This is an interesting piece of Canadian tackle nonetheless.
