Quetico Tackle Atikokan, Ontario
I'm not really sure of the age of this company or any history at this point, but I believe the company to be fairly recent (I'm trying to stay away from listing too many contemporary companies). It appears that at the time Quetico was producing these interesting looking jigs (originally used to jig off the side of a small boat or canoe in Quetico - more often used for ice fishing), they were also in the process of getting a patent for the Airplane Jig design. Whether or not the patent application was successful is not known at this time. I am also unsure who the original owner/operator of the company was. According to the card in the picture below, it is a Glenn Rawlings design. Was Glenn Rawlings a famous fisherman endorsing the product, or the owner himself? The lure design and company itself must have dissolved at some point and possibly purchased, as the Airplane jig is still being sold by Northland Tackle out of Bemidji, Minnesota. | Quetico Tackle Airplane Jig on its original Card
