Here are some more pictures and early advertisements put this company into perspective and give you an idea of the scope of their product line.

A Great Collection of Vintage AL&W Lures

Mark Van Hee's early AL&W collection of pikie baits and the different colours of the double jointed pikie shown.  Also shown are the tough colours that AL&W produced in their fluorescent line of paint jobs.  Also hidden behind my watermark is the crackled frog pattern paint scheme of another pikie.

Antique AL&W Wooden and Glass Eye Perfect Minnow

Pictured here are two beautiful AL&W perfect minnows.  These came in a range of colours and were only produced for a short period of time by the company.

Antique Allcock, Laight and Westwood Venus Minnow

This beautiful old wooden lure is almost identical to the acclaimed Heddon Vamp, but has minor differences in hardware and design.

Early AL&W lure box and dual spinner

Antique Allcock, Laight and Westwood dual spinners and the box that it was sold in.  This is a tougher lure box to come by and one of the nicest lure boxes I have ever seen.

Allcock, Laight & Westwood Carded Fishing Tackle

A nice mix of early carded AL&W fishing tackle showing the Beaver Brand logo.  AL&W made a strikingly diverse product line of metal spoons and spinners over the years.

A Nice Display of AL&W Pikies

A nice array of AL&W pikies in more common colours.  The black and white shore pikie is one of the tougher AL&W pikies to come by.

An Old AL&W Catalogue Page

A page from a 1953 AL&W catalogue showing some of their Creek Chub lures, and a picture of a pikie in the AL&W plastic lure box on the bottom.

Another AL&W Catalogue Page

Another page from the 1953 AL&W catalogue showing some of their Lazy Loon lures and one of their unique Basskill lures.

AL&W Catalogue Page

And another page showing their Krazy Kipper lure (much like the Helin Flatfish...any connection there I wonder?).  The catalogue page also shows the Pikie double jointed lure.

Old AL&W Advertisement

A nice early AL&W advertisement from a 1942 Hunting and Fishing in Canada magazine.
